To commemorate their August 8th and 9th shows at Edgefield, Thematic is offering its next original gig poster, commissioned and designed by Michael Laurence (Thematic’s founder and creative director, and a veteran of the concert poster scene – having spent years as a graphic designer working with the legendary SF promoter Bill Graham Presents).

This poster’s design draws inspiration from James Murphy’s oeuvre, and reflects wider influences from the art and design worlds, such as: Robert Rauschenberg, Joseph Cornell, Mike & Doug Starn, Rex Ray, Vaughan Oliver, Peter Saville, Karel Martens, Jennifer Sterling, Imaginary Forces, David Lynch, Jacques Cousteau, and others.

Taking visual cues from their wild dance punk roots, this design features an dynamic, layered composition that references themes of: connection, relevance, movement, irony, isolation, heritage, dream imagery, and the passage of time, all through a lens of vintage surrealism. The intended effect is a vague sense of "mood and memory."

This gig poster is offered in a strictly-limited artist edition of 125. When these are gone, they're gone for good. Each is printed on premium 100# smooth uncoated cover stock, with archival inks. Prints measure 13×19 inches, and are hand-signed and numbered on verso. Packaged and shipped quickly and securely. Thematic’s LCD Soundsystem posters are $50.00 USD each, plus shipping.
