Interpol Poster

Interpol Poster
“New York Cares”
To commemorate their August 6th, 2026 show, Thematic is offering an original gig poster, commissioned and designed by Michael Laurence. The design draws inspiration from Interpol’s music, and reflects wider influences from the art and design worlds, such as: Robert Rauschenberg, Joseph Cornell, Mike & Doug Starn, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Rex Ray, Vaughan Oliver, Peter Saville, Karel Martens, Jennifer Sterling, David Carson, Saul Bass, Imaginary Forces, and others.
Taking visual cues from the group’s inherently dark and surreal subjects, this design features an intricately layered composition that references themes of: crime and punishment, the surveillance state, chance encounters, regret, and finality, with a deliberate cinematic feel. The intended effect is a sense of "intrigue and danger."
This gig poster is offered in a strictly-limited artist edition of 100. When these are gone, they're gone for good. Each is litho printed on premium 100# smooth uncoated cover stock, with archival inks. Prints measure 13×19 inches, and are hand-signed and numbered on verso. Packaged and shipped quickly and securely. Posters are sold unframed.
Released: August 7, 2026
*Please note: This poster is an independent, self-commissioned, personal artistic statement and therefore is not formally affiliated with the venue, promoter, band, label, or management.
